You know how sometimes adults have trouble programming your TV and kids seem like they could fly the space shuttle? Well, put a GPS and map in their hands and they excel! We love seeing kids having fun in the outdoors while they communicate without cell phones or facebook. It's fun, fast-paced, healthy, and gets them developing a variety of skills while they are having a blast!

A geo race is a perfect event for a birthday party.  Kids have fun, they learn a new skill, they get exercise and practice their communication skills.  At the end of the event they are usually a little tired.

Our outdoor staff are great with kids and it shows in every event we put on.   The kids version of this event is based on the same principals as the adult version which is explained on the GEORACE description page.

How the birthday party / school events work:

We'll meet your group at a specified park location at the arranged time. Typically, the group is divided in to teams of 3-5 ppl with each team receiving a GPS unit, printed map, list of custom (not public, they are specific for your group) hidden caches with an associated clue and point value. Our staff introduce the entire group to the game and its rules, and how to read / operate / understand the gps units. (approx 20 min)

We will have set out ahead of time and physically hidden 15-20 geocaches, each with a set of specific point tickets contained in each one. The geographical co-ordinates for each geocache is recorded and loaded in to each of the hand held gps units. Teams set off to collect as many points as possible.

Our staff rove the playing area on bicycles to check in on teams and ensure they are able to use and understand the gps units or to answer questions (not location info) they might have. When teams reach the finish point, our staff will count the point tickets and award a winning team(s).If you`d like to award prizes to teams, just let us know in advance and our staff will be happy to present them, unless you wish to do so yourself.

PLEASE NOTE: children under 12 years will require an adult present per team.
