AWESOME OPTIONS
Add some extra fun to your Halifax Geo Race! These options are popular with many groups and really do make the game more interactive and exciting :)
#1. Corporate identity package
We will print your company logo on the maps, point tickets, and cache list; and up to 20 bonus questions pertaining to the company`s goals, message, or objectives can be added to the caches. To do this we will require a digital logo (jpeg, gif, tiff) and a digital format of questions (MS Word, Excel). Each question must be no more than 15 words in length.
$150.00 +HST flat fee.
#2. Photo challenge
Each team receives a digital camera and is advised that a photo of the entire team at each found found cache is required. They are also encouraged to take additional photos during the event. After the event, all photos will be collected by our staff and placed on a flash drive for you to take with you and share.
$30 + HST per camera
#3. Team colours
We will provide each team with coloured bandanas and markers to identify themselves uniquely. Team members will be encouraged to come up with a team name and utilize the markers and bandanas to show their team spirit. Whohoo!
$6 + HST per person
#4. Beer tasting challenge (Halifax downtown only)
A specific geocache will be planted with instructions to direct teams to a local downtown pub where they will be given a sample of 6 beers prepared by the brew pub. Teams will have to taste each beer sample and match it correctly to the beer on the menu.
$5 + HST per person.
#5. CBC Radio Personality (Halifax downtown only)
A specific geocache will be planted with instructions to walk to a busy downtown location where participants will have to find and identify our actual CBC historian. Teams must ask her the provided historic question and have the correct answer in order to prove they found her.
$200 + HST flat fee
#6. Pier 21 Immigrant (Halifax downtown only)
Pier 21 was the first landing place for many immigrants to Canada and has played an important role in Canada’s rich culture. Teams will be directed to search the facility to find our immigrant (actor) who speaks no English. Teams will be given a set of questions to attempt to communicate with the new arrival and get the correct answers. It’s not as easy as it sounds!
$200 + HST flat fee.
#7. Busking for charity (Halifax downtown only)
Teams will find a specific cache that will direct them to a kiosk where they’ll be given a set of toy instruments with instructions that they must “Busk” until they raise $10 before being awarded the point value associated with the cache. The money raised will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
$75 + HST flat fee
#8. Slack-Line Challenge (park or wilderness areas only)
A slack-line is a long section of nylon webbing undertension that is stretched between two trees and suspended approx. 2 feet off of the ground. Once teams find the slack-line they must take a photo of each team member balancing on it without any assistance.

#9 Oyster Origin (Halifax downtown only)
Teams will be directed to the Waterfront Warehouse Oyster Bar on the Halifax waterfront. The oyster bar offers a selection of oysters from different areas in eastern Canada. Teams will be given a sample of each and awarded points for each one they are able to match from the description on the menu.
$6 + HST per person
#10. Space to breathe Yoga Challenge
Halifax is known as a healthy, active city with yoga being the choice fitness activity. Teams will be directed (by geocache) to find our yoga instructor from Breathing Space Yoga Centre and will be required to perform a number of different yoga postions in order to recieve the points for that cache.
$150 + HST flat fee
#11. Kayaking to an uninhabited island
Yep, you read that right, working with East Coast Outfitters, we will operate your Georace on an island in the Prospect archepeligo. This beautiful island is the perfect spot for sea kayaking and Georacing.
